Social Media Calendar: Goodtalk

Task:
I developed and executed a comprehensive social media management strategy for GoodTalk, LLC, a creative music company focused on hip hop artists. My work centered on creating a structured content calendar that strategically aligned with artist releases, project launches, touring schedules, cultural holidays, and emerging viral trends. I designed a multi-platform approach that maintained consistent messaging while optimizing content for Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, and short-form video platforms, ensuring each post was tailored to platform-specific audience expectations and engagement patterns.

It's Valentine’s Day… maybe it’s time to swallow your pride, grab a box of chocolates, and send this song to your ex 💌🍫👀 @LexaGates I Just Can’t Be Alone might just get them back.

My role managing GoodTalk's social media involves comprehensive planning and execution:

  • Research & Social Listening: Tracking relevant dates (artist anniversaries, birthdays, releases) and cultural moments (Black History Month, Grammy Awards)

  • Trend Discovery: Identifying viral opportunities and cultural conversations to join (Groundhog Day tie-ins with Grammy predictions)

  • Strategic Planning: Creating a cohesive multi-platform calendar that balances promotional content with cultural engagement

  • Copywriting: Crafting platform-specific captions that maintain brand voice while adapting to each platform's audience

  • Content Curation: Organizing visual assets (images, GIFs, videos) across platforms with appropriate links

  • Scheduling Management: Coordinating consistent posting schedules across Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, and short-form video platforms

  • Cross-Platform Integration: Ensuring cohesive messaging while optimizing for each platform's unique features and audience expectations

  • Cultural Alignment: Connecting artist content with relevant cultural moments (Black History Month celebration featuring artists)
